MoMu Antwerp, BelgiumThese trousers are part of the “Amazone Costume” ensemble from the MoMu collection, made by german tailor Hermann Hoffmann. They are made of soft light beige linen canvas, the upper part around the waist and the ankles are lined with lightweight cotton twill that is folded and stitched around the edge creating a neat finish.
They feature one hidden placket with three buttons and eyelets, and a fourth visible one on each side of the waist opening. On the inside of the front panel there are two deep pockets, with thin double welt vertical openings and topstitch decoration visible from the outside.
There is a reinforced quilted panel on the inside area around the knee. While the upper and thighs area of the pants is roomy and with a low-cut crotch to allow comfortable movements, seven smaller buttons on the outer side of each calf are necessary to allow the wearer to slip into the tight fitting lower part of the pants.
