Denim Pantaloon
[work in progress: preparing PDF pattern]
2011 Levis Vintage Clothing reproduction by Miles Johnson, inspired by the original 1878 patent sketch by Jacob W.David. To this date, no physical objects of the original patented pants have been found.
The style features reinforced knees and seat, to improve durability of the pants when used daily by miners and other heavy duty workers. It features a curved lined waistband, curved front pockets secured by rivets, one back pocket and a waist chinch that was necessary to properly fit the pants.
The fit of these pants is more tailored than the classic 501 jeans, the construction and stitches reveal their more elegant nature.
