Workshop
15 November 2024
→UDIT Universidad de Diseño, Innovación y Tecnología
Av. de Alfonso XIII, 97, Chamartín, 28016 Madrid, Spain

The workshop will revolve around the work of pattern makers, ateliers and companies that copied and sold dozens of patterns from the collections of world-famous ateliers in Paris. And it was no secret!

Thanks to their shady work of study and reverse-engineering of these garment, the Museo del Traje now holds a great number of their toiles that allow us to explore the material story of patterns, workmanship and construction of fine fashion pieces.

During the workshop we will analyse some of the glasillas that Victoria Vásquez has studied as part of her PhD research, and participants will take part in different activities surrounding these pieces.

Topics include:
•Reverse engineering methodology
•3D modelling of replicas [using Clo3D]
•research into original pieces
•speculative and creative exercise on 3D replicas

The material have been prepared to suit both beginners and more experienced professionals.

Fees:
→100 euros for general public.
→75 euros for students and Museo del Traje members.
